Glenn -  You like Frank Waters and his  legends (a la Humpty Dumpty) but you knock knock knock the Bible.  You will never get it, my friend.  Speculation or inspiration?

Blainer)  What about the legends of the FLOOD?  Are they lies? 
A legend I read of the Hopi is that they came from the West, island
hopping until they landed on the American mainland.  The traditional
scientific wisdom is that they came across the Bering Strait when it was
iced over.  But that would mean they came into their present location
from the North.  Their legends contradict this.   Besides they are not
related to the Eskimos, but speak a Uto-Aztecan language, indicating they
are related to Central American Indians.  They also have legends of a
God, whom the call the "Lost White Brother," also called Pahana, whom
they expect to return some day and bring universal brotherhood and peace.
This is taken from a book called THE BOOK OF THE HOPI, by Frank Waters,
a non-LDS writer who lived among the Hopi for several years.
