David,

I consider God's Laws and God's Commandments as the same thing: to me they
are the moral laws handed down through Moses. (Not the ceremonial or civil
laws. Not the traditions of men.) And I consider them to still be required
by God of His followers. Am I wrong here?

One place in Scripture where we see that the law refers to commandments that
came through Moses and that covenant is the following:

Rom 5:13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed
when there is no law.
Rom 5:14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that
had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the
figure of him that was to come.

While it is true that sometimes "the law" might include the writings of the
prophets, more strictly it is referring to the 613 commandments given
through Moses.

So I think we ought to agree that "law" and "commandments" are not
necessarily the same thing.

Consider also the understanding that both Jews and Gentiles were given 7
commandments prior to Moses, but these are not considered the law (see
Romans 2:14 compare with commandments of Gen. 9).

Peace be with you.
