I have not attacked the messenger. Luther was being quoted as an
authority, and I was giving reason why he is not a very good authority
on this particular subject (from my perspective). A lot of people have
respect for Martin Luther because of the tremendous role he played in
the Reformation. However, most people just know him as a famous
historical name and are not really all that knowledgeable about him.
Did you know the facts that I shared about Martin Luther? If you did
know all those facts, don't assume everyone on TruthTalk does. Perhaps
I should take a poll and ask if there is anyone on TruthTalk who did not
know all the facts that I shared about Martin Luther and his sacred cow
"sola fide." How many people on TruthTalk knew that Luther rejected the
book of James as not part of the Bible, urged people to burn it because
it contradicted his "sola fide" doctrine, and that he added words to
Paul's writings in order to further his "sola fide" doctrine?

If I wanted to attack the man, I could have characterized Luther as a
beer guzzling German who went to the bars on a nightly basis and drank
beers with the guys instead of standing outside on the sidewalk and
preaching against immorality. Perhaps I might have called him names
like "hard headed" or that he is just like the Church of Christ or that
he sounded like a Pharisee, or a host of other epithets that you hurl
around here toward others. Glenn, you play the hypocrite and you seem
to be the only one who can't see it. Everything you accuse others of,
you are guilty of yourself. You accuse me of attacking Luther's
character because that's what you do around here. You accuse me and
others of judging the motives of others, but you do it all the time.

Now I am like Marlin in that I don't care to defend myself, and I'm sure
in your eyes that makes me guilty just as you have judged Marlin guilty
for his silence. I remember Jesus was judged guilty because he was
silent also. Do you think that was just?

What you don't seem to understand is that while you were off the list, I
was attempting to argue your position to the others concerning the
Sabbath. I was attempting to discuss the Sabbath from a Biblical
perspective. Now you have thrown the list into turmoil and made it very
difficult to carry on meaningful conversations. You and I agree on so
many issues, yet you carry on as if we are doctrinal enemies.

For the sake of the list, I'm going to ask you Glenn to limit your posts
to two posts per day for one week. Are you willing to do this on a
voluntary basis? I think if you limited your posts to two a day,
perhaps instead of just lashing out insults at people, you might try to
argue your position from wisdom rather than by the quantity of posts you
are able to produce. The problem is that we spend so much time reading
your posts and being distracted by what we think you might be saying
that we have no time to have meaningful discussions. So can this work?
Are you willing to work with me on this?

Peace be with you.
