Judy:
As I understand the Bible, Paradise was only for those old
testament saints that were waiting for the resurrection. People who were
saved, eg. Abraham and the thief on the cross and many others. The word
Paradise means park or oasis and was used to describe the garden of Eden in one
place. Everyone in Paradise made it to Heaven. To suggest that the
thief was unsaved therefore would be saying that the Lord lied and the Bible is
in error.
The other place, where the unsaved were held, is known as
Sheol, and there was a great gulf between the two. People in Sheol were
waiting to go to Gehenna, or Hell as we commonly call it.
David, of course, will respectfully disagree.
