Is it yes or no? Is Polygamy in effect or not?
If it is an everlasting doctrine then it must be in effect, right?
DC 132:4 For behold, I reveal unto you a new and an everlasting covenant; and if ye abide not that covenant, then are ye damned; for no one can reject this covenant and be permitted to enter into my glory.

And remember if you reject this covenant you will NOT be permitted into His glory!
So do you practice or have you rejected?

The only men who become Gods, even the Sons of Gods, are those who enter into polygamy. (Journal of Discourses 11:269).

"If we were to do away with polygamy, it would only be one feather in the bird, one ordinance in the Church and kingdom. Do away with that, then we must do away with prophets and Apostles, with revelation and the gifts and graces of the Gospel, and finally give up our religion altogether and turn sectarians and do as the world does, then all would be right. We just can't do that, for God has commanded us to build up His "And I now publicly declare that my advice to the Ladder-day Saints is to refrain from contracting any marriage forbidden by the law of the land.  Official Declarationkingdom and to bear our testimony to the nations of the earth, and we are going to do it, come life or come death. He has told us to do thus, and we shall obey Him in days to come as we have in days past" Wilford Woodruff (Journal of Discourses 13:165 - p.166).

Since you have done away with polygamy according to the churches, 4th president & prophet you must now do away with prophets & Apostles. Any plans to do such or is this just a NON-Prophet organization? Either the present prophet is right or this Prophet was right. Choose one.

And remember it was never forbidden only "advised and the Prophet said he would use his "influence"
When did it cross the line to become grounds for eXing?

Actually, DaveH, the original post was a comment to David M on the topic...there really were no questions. However, if you feel compelled to respond to the original post, I look forward to reading it. I mentioned your name because of my slight recollection that we broached this topic some time ago. Maybe my memory is failing me, but I don't recall that I have ever gotten a reasonal rebuttal to the comments on polygamy from any LDS member on this.

The bottom line is that Joseph Smith delivered a command, supposedly from god, that anyone not practicing polygamy is damned. This command has never been revoked by God, so it still holds. The church did make a statement indicating that polygamy would not be practiced, but this was because the government threatened to punish polygamists, not because a prophet received a new revelation from god un-doing it!

So, polygamous LDS are breaking the laws of the land, and non-polygamous LDS are damned, according to prophecy delivered by JS, and are breaking the laws of god. Again, no questions, just comments.

I believe that if the government eased or removed laws prohibiting polygamous relationships, LDS would gladly continue to practice it without an further commandments from god since the original decree is still in effect.
