DAVEH: I'm curious, Perry. Are there any passages in the Bible that use a phrase like heaven and hell in the same sentence, or sermon?
Yes, and although I did not search for them, there probably are some where heaven and hell are mentioned in adjacent verses, as well as in the same sermon. Why do you ask?
Psalms 139:8 - If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
Amos 9:2 - Though they dig into hell, thence shall mine hand take them; though they climb up to heaven, thence will I bring them down:
Matthew 11:23 - And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.
Mark 9:47 - And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: [Kingdom of God = Heaven?]
Luke 10:15 - And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell.
