I'm glad you posted this, Judy, and for those who are reading this thread, aren't her comments pointg now to a question about the uniqueness of human nature? Acc to Moses, aren't we created beings betw the God of Genesis 1:27 and the created animals, neither the *Creator-Spirit nor 'animal'?

To put it another way, although we are flesh and spirit we are neither God* nor animals; aren't we called 'gods' in the Bible?

I did comment yesterday but I see my words didn't make it....
so will try again .... No I don't believe Genesis 1:27 refers to
a biological image because God is Spirit.  A&E were also
primarily spirit beings with a nature and character like God
from which they fell.  The ONLY way back now is through
Christ.

Judy, I think my editg, above, is accurate--let me know.

Do you mean that 'the image of God', below, is not in a 'biological' category?
Or, do you think it is (in a 'biological' category)...How does a human minus the
'animal instinct' remain 'a part of the animal kingdom'?

Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image,

in the image of God he created him;

male and female he created them.
