No, I think it was Judy who wrote that. (I got seventy posts this
morning, so I'm going through them quickly, but I think I saw that in one
of Judy's posts a few minutes ago.)
I believe that being born with the sinful nature inherited from Adam
and Eve is not the same as having committed a sin. The concept of
original sin is part of the rc denomination's doctrinal package. We are
not born with a sin on our record. "Born in sin" is ambiguous; I don't
see it as meaning "born with a sin on our record." I see it as meaning
"born with a sinful human nature in a sinful world full of sinful
influences." I don't believe that Jesus will judge people for the sins of
their fathers (and mothers), so I don't believe A&E's sin is credited nor
will it be credited to us.
Different subject: I was surprised by the large number of messages
in my inbox this morning, mostly from TT, but I was further surprised and
disappointed at the negative tone of so many of those messages. I think
we probably become a little negative when others don't say, "You're
right! You've caused me to change my mind." It's been my experience that
very few people in forums like these change their minds due to something
they've been told by another participant in these forums. Most people
seem to use these forums primarily to sharpen their apologetics, so don't
be disappointed when few people or no people agree with you (plural
"you," all TT participants). Be glad there are so many active
participants. So many viewpoints, though many of those viewpoints are,
imho, very, very, wrong, are good for stimulating thinking and better
understanding.
