You can disagree if you wish, but I do not see it as a sincere question, even though it is phrased as a question. It's like the question "When did you stop cheating on your husband?" It's a statement designed to inflame. There have been others on TruthTalk who have used tactics similar to this. Thankfully they're no longer posting. There is a way to engage in conversation and disagreement without being enflaming. Judy needs to begin using love as the main motivator for her posts, because I don't hear it in these posts.

jt: I was attempting to speak the truth in love Slade - I'm sorry it falls short of your standard.

If you're convinced someone is wrong, back it up with either Scripture or hypothesis, not by sticking your middle finger in someone's face.

jt: I've not been sticking my middle finger anywhere Slade and I have backed up what I've written with scripture repeatedly. I will go over it once more for the sake of peace.  (1) Jesus knew who it was who would betray Him when he passed the sop (John 13:18) (2) Satan who had been motivating Judas to steal from the treasury entered into him. (3) Judas betrayed the Lord for 30 pieces of silver. (4) Jesus in his prayer to the Father calls Judas the son of perdition and states clearly that he is the only one lost out of those the Father has given Him.

In context, Judy is flaming Lance because her opinion is that the Son of Perdition is Judas. I am not so dogmatic because Son of Perdition is a Hebrew idiom for someone destined to perish and Scripture is clear that the one called "AntiMessiah" is one destined for destruction. Perhaps Lance is working from the vantage point that there is only one Son of Perdition, I don't know the heart of Lance, so he'll have to answer that if he so chooses.

jt: I am NOT, I repeat NOT flaming Lance Slade; I am merely stating God's Truth as revealed in God's Word which Lance refuses to receive.

Slade: Perhaps Lance is working from the vantage point that there is only one Son of Perdition, I don't know the heart of Lance, so he'll have to answer that if he so chooses.

jt: Only ONE son of perdition???????  What foundation is there for such a peculiar idea? Eph 2 tells us we were all the same way before receiving and embracing the truth.  Heb 10:39 shows that it is possible to draw back to perdition as Judas apparently did and John I believe it is speaks of 'many' antichrists that have gone out into the world.

Perhaps Judy should respectfully consider ignoring the posts from those she considers heretic[k]s and post only to those whom she agrees. That's what I do with some people on some subjects. It also helps ease the tension and increase the peace. -- slade

jt: I would call what you describe 'peace at any price' Slade - Of what value is a truth talk list where some are forbidden to speak because others find their version of truth to be offensive?
