Well, there was some question in my mind about G's comment, but it was similar to yours.  He too had a point.  You object to scholarly discussions that invoke other authors and theologians, and when asked for who you read, you refer to the KJV Bible.  That does appear to be "8th grade level" theology so to speak.  Technically, there is a problem with him making the
discussion personal, but if you can react in a mature way, then we can let it slide.

I'm glad you agree on the issue of excessive moderation DavidM, but now we have arrived at another problem here - something called "stereotyping".  I disagree with your assessment that Gary's comment was similar to mine. For one thing I don't ever enquire of Gary; but Lance was pondering this question and I did not reply in jest (sorry that it sounded that way). I sincerely believe that holding to this cosmic incarnation belief that he has spoken of is similar to being stuck in an expanded kind of "positional truth" which when not walked out daily becomes static - a doctrine by which one will never be conformed to the image of Christ or overcome.

If you David do (as you say) believe 1 Corinthians 2:16 as well as 2 Corinthians 5:17 - then stereotyping someone the way Gary has done is a contradiction.  I'm all for everyone doing what they want to do and invoking anyone they like - what I take exception to is giving the voice of man (read theologians and church fathers) more authority than God's Word.  The KJV Bible is written two grades higher than Gary gives me credit for. It is on a 10th Grade level but this should not make one whit of a difference to the spiritually minded since God is prone to hide things from the wise and prudent only to reveal them to babes.  That is unless we are seeking something other than God with our whole heart.  If we are following pride and/or vain ambition then - yes, this would be a problem.  judyt
