The Majority Text position is not staticly stuck in time. It compares all
the manuscripts, including those discovered since the 17th century. It
simply does not accept the Syrian recension theory of Wescott and Hort,
which is the basis for giving the older Egyptian texts more weight than the
thousands of extant texts with which they differ. The majority text
position is that while these Egyptian texts are older, they are the ones
which differ the most from the original autographs. There are a lot of
internal evidences within these texts for supporting this viewpoint.

Peace be with you.
David Miller.
