I know that "........ this is not what [you] meant......" But what you intend and what is reality, in this case, are two very different things. It is always "what you believe the bible says" and never "this is what the Bible says." You've got to try to remember that. "Interpretation" is what you do when you try to discover the specific meaning of a ANY AND ALL passages of scripture. God most definitely works in this process but this interpretive discovery or enlightenment can never be understood in terms of divine revelation as when God gave the meaning of dreams to Daniel. Providential enlightenment is a very personal circumstance and it is directly tied to where you are in terms of spiritual maturity. God can take a single passage of scripture and teach many different lessons to many different people.
As far as our causing strife -- it appears to me that it is you who causes strife as you deny that which is painfully certain. We have made our case on a number of occasions -- but this is a discussion group, so I do not mind making the point again. What specifically did you question in "our" presentation? Give me a starting point and we will proceed. So good to have you back, by the way.

Please do not put words in my mouth. This is not what I meant at all. What is important is what the Bible actually says. You and Lance follow the philosophy that we only have our understanding of the Bible. Therefore you create strife and division in this discussion by claiming that this is a discussion whereby it is Lance (falsely accused) versus David Miller. Nonsense. What Lance or David Miller have to say is not nearly so important as what God has to say. We must both turn our eyes heavenward and hear God's Word on the matter and agree with it. Otherwise, truth is unobtainable. The discussion degrades into Lance's understanding versus David's understanding. Who cares? What does God say. That is what is important. Lance presented a hopeless and faithless situation whereby every believer participates inadequately and incompletely in the work of Christ everyday. He has presented no Bible for his opinion because the Bible does not teach this. If you or Lance think otherwise, make your case. We should both be looking at God's Word and agreeing with it. I'm just trying to make it clear that Lance speaks from himself rather than from the Word of God. I hope to remind him of this so that he understands that some here do not speak from themselves. They speak from the Logos of God. Some of us here have a message of hope, a gospel of hope, that Jesus Christ has destroyed the works of the devil. We can participate in him completely and adequately, such that the power of sin is destroyed and we walk in righteousness. Those who believe will be established, but those who doubt will continue to sin. Peace be with you.
