Wrong, JD. This is deception. If I adopted this perspective, then it
would
become all about ME and what I THINK. My perspective right now is that
my
interpretation matters little. I do the best I can to understand what
the
Bible says, and to hear God's voice in my spirit. When I express that,
yes,
you are hearing my interpretation. But my interpretation means nothing.
My
interpretation might be modified somewhat by something you say, or by
something Lance says, or by something Izzy says, etc. etc. When I ask
about
what the Bible says, I mean exactly that. What is the meaning meant by
the
author, the Holy Spirit. I am soliciting the interpretation of others,
expressing what I see in the passage, and asking others to tell me how
they
interpret such passages by the Holy Spirit. We all ought to have this
perspective of, "what does God's Word say," NOT, "what does our
interpretation of God's Word say." All of our interpretations should be
subject to correction. This is true humility.

Such a statement denies the power of the blood of the cross. This is not
good news. This is not the gospel. I much prefer the words of Jesus:
John 8:32-36
(32) And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
(33) They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage

any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?
(34) Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever

I understand Jesus to be saying that the Son makes us free from being a
servant of sin. Furthermore, he does this through causing us to know and
understand TRUTH. Lance says, "if you think that, you are deceived,
wrong,
etc." What is Lance's authority for disagreeing? He is his own
authority,
because he does not appeal to Scripture to instruct us in the way of
righteousness. If Lance does not speak from revelation or from
Scripture,
then he speaks from himself.
Now your comments seek to make me confess that I speak from myself too.
That is why you want to focus upon my INTERPRETATION of the Bible rather
than THE BIBLE. The truth of this matter is that I do not speak from
myself. I speak from God's Word, so your philosophy that everybody
speaks
only from their own interpretation and that everybody will inadequately
apprehend Christ will gain no ground with me.
