I don't agree. I believe we need to have commitment in what we talk,
suggest and write. A project must meet and deliver its goals. Then, of
course, in rare circumstances, something might not be delivered on
time, but that would be just an exception.

We put goals in the roadmap because we think they are features/changes
needed by the project and because we think that we should put the
focus on those.

What we can't do is getting do meeting in Belgium, move people around
from many countries around the world, agreed on the production module
and now say "we'll see if it happens...." or "this is free software
world and things might not happen". Is just not serious.

That's not how I understood what happened at the TUL.

The proposition on elveos date from September which means that the
design is already almost clear (at least in Cédric's mind), people at
the TUL recognized a need an decided to help by donating. Of course
those donations will speed up the development but if the amount is not
reached before the release I won't blame Cédric (or anybody else) for
working on some stuffs that he finds more interesting. On the other
hand is the amount is reached, then B2CK will have to create the
module : at that time there will be a contract between the
subscriptors and B2CK.

And I am definitely serious when I say that.

Don't get me wrong. This is a great project and that's why a lot of us
are here, contributing and supporting it, but we need to deliver the
goals, otherwise it will become chaotic and unpredictable.

It's not chaotic / unpredictable the way it is now. It's just that
stuffs will happen only if the community really want them. There is no
OpenERP SA to drive the developments here, you're not customers, we're
not your supplier (unless you order us some stuffs like others already
did).

PS: Time to have the Tryton foundation.

It don't think it would solve what you're thinking is the issue.
But this is not the issue of this thread, so we should discuss this in
the dedicated topic.
