 - RAID-1
 - SW means kernel RAID, HW means true hardware

Software RAID is usually kernel RAID when talking about Linux, and
driver-controlled RAID is often referred to as fakeraid.

Using either sw or hw RAID will most likely not be a critical decision
for you. And unless you get to try both under the conditions of real
life, you can never be sure you made the right choice.

To me the sellingpoint is not performance as I will never reach the
limits here. To me it's ease and flexibility that counts, and to me
that's what a kernel SW RAID will give.
