I don't think the ASL is any better than the GPL. We can talk
about that offline since it's irrelevant to whether the SPL
would have been compatible with the ASL.
I was looking for a license like the MPL, except one that works
for runtime linked languages like Java.
The goal was not rewrite my license until it was the ASL, the
goal was to rewrite my license until it was *compatible* with
the ASL (and also compatible with the GPL).
