Yeah, I saw that.  Actually I was refering to BufferedImage when I said that
one could get rid of the X server.  No you obviously do not need an X server
for AWT on windows, but I believe that with BufferedImage you do not even
need AWT.  At least not the native classes, that I believe were called peers
in jdk1.1.  Anyway, I might be mistaken on that issue.
