...JFreeChart rocks! It's far better than the code I have been using; if
only I'd discovered it earlier. Still it was only the work of a couple
of hours to convert over to using it.

But I can still use PJA as a drop in AWT replacement with no X server
required.
So I don't see any point in working up the XYGraph code to be of a
suitable standard to include in Turbine when JFreeChart exists. I may
look now at doing up some examples of how to use it in Turbine...
