After watching it once, I edited out almost all of the commercial time and brought it down to 2:19. My verdict: Underwood's acting was bad, Moyer was noble but colorless, the kids were good, the Broadway pros in the supporting cast were terrific. (Laura Benanti should be in everything.) And the production as a whole was a bit stiff. But it was the kind of television spectacle that I actually enjoyed watching all the way through, despite its flaws. I'm glad that there will be more musicals on TV as a result - that's a very good thing. And I even got choked up on a couple songs. Damn you, Rodgers and Hammerstein! -Tim -- -- TV or Not TV ....
