I guess I'll be the contrarian here. I liked it. I like Fallon anyway. I think unlike any previous Tonight host, the turnaround time he had was nothing to move from one show to another. He had one week. That's rough. Admittedly, they tried to do too much Monday.
I don't think he overly suffers from the double intro or anything else. I think he was being heartfelt at the top and then switched into host mode. The Will Smith thing was bad because Will Smith isn't a great guest. He should have had Colbert out there on the panel or someone he knows can perform for him.
