I'm going to be on here less than I have been, as he has expressed a desire
to use our computer again, meaning nothing during the day. I have two eye
dr appointments Thursday, so maybe if our friend visits, she'll persuade
him...

Problem is, his memory still isn't great; the last time this happened, he
thought he was dealing with a touchscreen and didn't need the mouse...then
once the need for the handheld thing occurred to him, he couldn't figure
out what he had to click, or whether to single- or double-click.
