> He just got his new specs Friday, oddly from an optician whose optometrist
partner dropped my insurance (dad's and mine have diff. vision benefits
managers) and everybody agrees they suck on toast.

The previous plan was to put the special lens that had been on the left
eye, on the right eye, and the left would be blacked over, a glorified eye
patch. This pair just fogs over the left so that only light is let in,
while the right is a more conventional corrective lens with a bifocal. Dad
fell on his not-too-well-padded-anymore booty this morning (13) and could
need wound care soon depending on how bad the bruising is. He admitted
again he needs someone to be here with him continuously, but the costs
thereof are still questionable to my brothers.
