I went back and checked the tape. Batiste was wearing a charcoal jacket over a black shirt during the monologue. Then, when they returned from the commercial break, he was wearing a loud, mostly-gold jacket, which we saw again during Timberlake’s walk-out, after the Big Questions bit. I didn’t see him again until the end of Carmen Yulín Cruz’s panel as they faded out at the end of the show. At that time he was back to the same charcoal over black outfit he’d been wearing during the monologue.
So, since the monologue was topical with news from earlier in the day, it looks like the monologue and Mayor Cruz’s panel were taped yesterday, and Timberlake’s bits were pre-taped (during the mystery days off on Monday and Tuesday, maybe?).
