I have the same issue on multiple machines (with very diverse hardware,
so it doesn't seem to be hardware related)!

I attached a photo of the boot messages of one of the machines. The
errors for `ps` and `realpath` are a bit suspicious, but they are
printed on successful boots when rolling back to 6.17.0-5 as well.

One additional observation: When hanging in this state, the CPU fan runs
on pretty high speed.
