** Description changed:

Preliminary note: I recently migrated on Mint and don't now anything
about how Linux works so I resorted to ChatGPT to find and fix the bug
as well as to generate this report. I don't know if all the data are
  100% accurate.

  ## Hardware

  - CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5500
  - GPU: AMD Radeon, Sapphire Technology, PCI ID 1002:7590
  - Motherboard: Gigabyte B550M AORUS ELITE

  ## Description

After upgrading `linux-firmware-amd-graphics` from version `0ubuntu3.3`
to `0ubuntu3.4` on November 4, 2026, the system stopped displaying
  anything during normal boot.

The Linux Mint logo appeared, then the monitor lost its signal ("Input
Not Support"). Recovery mode remained functional.

The issue occurred with multiple kernels, including 7.0.0-42 and
  6.14.0-37.

The system logs contained repeated AMDGPU errors:

  - `dc_dmub_srv_log_diagnostic_data: DMCUB error - collecting diagnostic data`
  - `EDID CEA parser failed`

  Xorg also repeatedly crashed.

  ## Reproduction / workaround

  Downgrading `linux-firmware-amd-graphics` to version
`20240318.git3b128b60-0ubuntu3.3` restored normal boot and display
  output.

The package downgrade also regenerated the initramfs.

The system now boots normally with version `0ubuntu3.3`.

  ## Expected behaviour

The system should boot normally and initialize the AMD GPU display
output after upgrading the firmware package.

  ## Additional information

The regression appears to be associated with the DMCUB firmware changes
introduced in version `0ubuntu3.4`, particularly the updates for DCN 3.2
  and DCN 4.0.1.

- Related report: Ubuntu bug #2168847.
+ ## Root cause
+
+ Updating to 0ubuntu3.4 turned dcn_4_0_1_dmcub.bin.zst into a symlink to
+ dcn_3_2_0_dmcub.bin.zst.
+
+ They should be their own files. They ARE NOT compatible.
+
+ See comment #4 for details.
