Confirmed that I am also experiencing the reported display regression on an AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT running Linux Mint 22.3 (Ubuntu 24.04 Noble base).
System configuration: * Distribution: Linux Mint 22.3 (Zena) * Kernel: 7.0.0-38-generic * GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT (gfx1201) * Mesa: 26.2.5 (kisak-mesa PPA) * Session: X11 * Working firmware: 20240318.git3b128b60-0ubuntu3.3 * Regression version: 20240318.git3b128b60-0ubuntu3.4 The system was previously working with the older firmware package. Following the firmware update to 0ubuntu3.4, I encountered the black- screen/display failure described in this report. Reverting to 0ubuntu3.3 restored normal display functionality. I have placed linux-firmware-amd-graphics on hold to prevent the problematic version from being reinstalled. Current working configuration: * Hardware acceleration functional with amdgpu/radeonsi * X11 desktop operational * No current display failures on 0ubuntu3.3 The regression appears associated with the firmware package update rather than the Mesa version or desktop session, although I have not isolated the specific firmware file responsible. This is an additional confirmation that 0ubuntu3.3 works on RX 9070 XT hardware while 0ubuntu3.4 introduces a display regression. I can provide additional logs or package information if useful for debugging. I would appreciate confirmation when a corrected Noble firmware package is available for testing. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2173041 Title: black screen after upgrading linux-firmware-amd-graphics to 0ubuntu3.4 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-firmware-amd-graphics/+bug/2173041/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
