To be blunt, those dollar signs are not yet fully lit up when it comes to 'the Linux desktop'. We're pushing very hard on uptake, exposure and so on, but it will take a while. We are already having great success. The best targets for hardware support are going to be the smaller, nimbler vendors who have an interest in Linux already. You can already buy Ubuntu pre-installed from various local vendors.
