I'm looking into buying a laptop from a local company that offered to install Ubuntu on it (they use the same laptop with Ubuntu themselves). There are probably a couple of other small companies offering the same. They don't have the money to pay for Ubuntu hardware certification though. Not even the clone builder they are a reseller of could do this and still make a profit on it (or they would have to sell it more expensive than a laptop with Windows). Most of these companies sell/build laptops based on MSI (or maybe sometimes ASUS) barebones. OTOH I think they would be really happy if MSI paid for the hardware certification... -- Jan Claeys -- ubuntu-marketing mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-marketing
