So, the challenge right now is that hardware vendors obviously want to see
dollar signs associated with supporting another platform. To be blunt, those
dollar signs are not yet fully lit up when it comes to 'the Linux desktop'.
We're pushing very hard on uptake, exposure and so on, but it will take a
while. We are already having great success. The best targets for hardware
support are going to be the smaller, nimbler vendors who have an interest in
Linux already. You can already buy Ubuntu pre-installed from various local
vendors. The big ones aren't going to jump until there's an obvious market
for for it.

Good analysis. But if only ONE big vendor (like for example a laptop vendor) could
subscribe to the program, the chain reaction could then start quickly...... and the explosion
would be closer !  Yeah I'm dreaming.... but soon....

...enthusiasm will take over !!!
