I've noted that at times, if I have more than 5 tabs in Firefox open, an Xterm session, System Monitor, plus all the little gadgets that I run off the Taskbar (dictionary, weather, notes, etc), I can use as much as 500+MB of RAM on my laptop. I'm running Ubuntu 8.10 on this machine.
I also have an Asus Eee PC 701 running Eeebuntu Standard 1.0 (Hardy-based), and with Firefox and an Xterm session running, it uses 275-285MB of RAM. -- Rob Smith Posted via Ubuntu Linux (v.8.10) Because software, like people, should be allowed to exist in an open, sharing community, and not kept contained by corporate greed! --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ubuntu Linux" group.
