Which brings my own prime minister Stephen Harper into the line of reasoning.
You see many of you preaching for Federalism of Uganda use Canada as a
democratic country for it is on Federal system. Well guess what? We are getting
a federal election late this year and the Prime minister if very giving this
days. A province like Ontario that is usually Liberal party supporter is a
major decider on who wins Ottawa, so Stephen knows that. From when he came to
power he has neglected this province, he has refused to meet Premier Katherine
for he dislikes the province. Somehow few days ago he agreed to sit with her
impromptu. Well last week he showed up in Toronto and made a major announcement
out of the blue. Since Toronto is in great need of funds to construct a subway
expansion he promised to hand us 2.6Billion dollars for the smart track
construction we are trying to raise money for. Now that is a whole whack of
money for Ottawa to surprisingly throw at us when we never ever get any money
out of this Ottawa.
There are some very underbelly reasons you need to understand on this offer, we
will get that money if Stephen Harper gets re-elected come October 19 2015. If
he is not re-elected then we will not see a single penny on that promise. The
construction of smart track trains is planned to start 2020, but we hold
elections every 4 years so by law, we will have an election in 2015 and we must
hold an election in 2019, so what Harper indirectly did was to tell us that if
he is elected in 2015 and 2019 then we will get the money. All polls we have
from all sources out there are telling us that he has no shot being re-elected
come this October. His ministers are resigning left and center for they want to
disassociate themselves from a sinking ship. Why is he making these promises?
Now let us go back to our country and see the promises made by our politicians,
how different are they from this promise? And you call this promise not to buy
votes? If he is doing it in a Federal country why can’t he do it in a unitary
country? What makes you believe that under a Federal government Uganda
president will never buy votes when it is done here?
Sell Federalism for that is your right, but don’t pack garbage in a container
and tell people it is gold, you are lying to your poor souls gentlemen.

Mw Ssekajja and Akim with fellow UAH folks,
I think, some Ugandans who dislike Constitutional Federalism Uganda should
think twice. I belief the Constitutional Federalism Uganda would be different
from the one we had in the 1962 Independence Constitution. The one people are
talking for would be different because it would be equal among the equal
societies of our country!
This, I think we have discussed in the FEDNET forum some years back, which
means no other groups would dominate the others. This is why I feel we should
all embrace, there would not be some hidden silver linings in Constitutional
Federalism Uganda since it would be for the whole society of Uganda.
We all belong to the current Uganda and, I think we should try to see the true
picture of Constitutional Federalism Uganda since, the Republic doctrine had
pushed us to the politics of the ‘Winner takes all politics’ rather than the
collective responsibility system. I think, some Ugandans are rejecting
Federalism and, or Kingdoms leaderships on selfish agenda, because we are
seeing even political parties such as UPC and, or NRA/M7ism are in this
business of Royalism by putting the sons of their founders to continue to rule
those parties. Then, my question is; why should Ugandans not just endorse
Constitutional Federalism Uganda?

As Ugandans and Africans, whose interest ought to be reorganising our
socio-political structures/ spheres, to prepare for economic growth, we
(federalists) should not worry about winning the coming election! but winning
the future debate on federalism, and see that translating into a federal state
of Uganda. Our main preoccupation, as federalists today, should be driving the
idea into other organisations, and challenging them to espouse it as necessary
for the peacefulness and development of the country.

KATEREGGA, Im happy to know that you are now on board. you have realised that
the unitary monster is taking us nowhere.you have been an advocate of regional
tier which is very difficult to implement and still keeps power at the centre.

Ugandans,
To most, Mbabazi is a tear away from the old "gang" who have failed to deliver
promises and instead exploited Ugandans for their own gains. His recent
declaration is but a gimmick, which should be ignored. In his declaration he
talked of a change in "system of government" without elucidating as to what
that system would be. It is clear he has no idea what he is talking about and
how it would be delivered. Like his rival, they have no clue as to what is good
for Ugandans and simply carried on from their predecessors, with the same
results.
Mbabazi would never be a first choice for Ugandans but in the current state
anything but Museveni would do! Mbabazi needs to re invent himself by
apologising for the exploitation of Ugandans for the last thirty years and
counting and then embrace federalism by acknowledging that the system is broken
and must be damped. This will provide Ugandans with a viable alternative. Other
than, he and his nemesis are birds of the same feather albeit the sound of
Mbabazi's drivel, disregard the substance; is more easy to the ear than the
alternative. Mbabazi has also got to drop his arrogance. With the assertion
that "Ugandans do not know what they" one is reminded of the arrogance with
which they managed to divide people and how the gullible swallowed it "hook,
line and sinker" while singing praises way after the drummer had stopped.
For his sin, Mbabazi, with a working microphone in his hands and still alive,
must start singing the federal message because it is the message that Ugandans
want hear or else, he should follow the rest to the dustbin of history.
