This.

The only stuff I watch on linear TV is sports and the news. Movies are
streamed, either from a streaming service or my in-house media centre.

That's what it's doing today for IPTV service providers. Some providers
have the STB's doubling as media centres, so chances are that if the
STB's will remain in situ, much of the traffic will move from Multicast
to Unicast, over time.
