The 1800 is heavier but quieter (and more expensive) Next you need to decide between Westerbeke, Kohler, Cummings (Oman) or Northern Lights I went with Kohler (smaller and lighter) but have been really frustrated with service (you have to go thru distributors for any technical questions). If it wasn't for hot water, (assuming your stove and oven is propane, I could have gone with a massive battery bank and huge "smart" alternators on the engines. A bank of 8 golf cart from Costco supplies a lot of power. I also put flexible solar panels on the upper canvas (generates enough power to keep fridge going). Good luck.
