Hi all

I have successfully set up my squeezebox duet against both a Windows PC
and a laptop running Linux (Fedora 8). I love it ! This has worked on my
encrypted wireless network with no problems. My network configuration is
like this

http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/Image:Network_diagram_full.jpg

Except that I have a firewall (IpCop) running on a dedicated server
between the cable modem and the router/wireless access point.

Unfortunately, I have tried installed slimserver to an NSLU2, but the
squeezebox simply won't find the music source here. The slimserver
installation is fine because I can browse my music collection on the
NSLU2 from a web browser running on any other computer on the network.

I can ssh from the NSLU2 (192.168.0.3) to the squeezebox receiver
(192.168.0.4). In the other direction I even did a wget from the
receiver to fetch the slimserver page at http://192.168.0.3:9000 so
comms appear to be fine. All servers receive an IP address from a DHCP
server on the IpCop machine (192.168.0.1), apart from the access point /
router which has a static address (192.168.0.2).

The difference, networking wise, is that the NSLU2 is wired to the
network via an ethernet port on the router / wireless access point. But
as I say, I can ssh around the network without problems. So how does the
squeezebox search the network for music sources ?

I looked at this page -
http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/RouterStatus. My wireless /
router is a belkin F5D7230 which is close to one of the problematic
ones (Belkin F5D7231-4) listed. Maybe mine is problematic as well.

What should I try next ? I was considering getting a crossover cable
and wiring the NSLU2 to the squeezebox directly but don't really want
the NSLU2 with external USB on display !

Thanks

Chris Faulkner
