I've worked in Java for a decade. I think its time to move on. They keep 
adding more stuff to the language. The language itself has feature bloat.

I use pure Debian on my old crock server. Its not the smallest, that 
probably goes to DSL, but its close.

I run backups, SVN, samba, DHCP and bind on it. Works fine.

I wasn't there at the beginning, but I think it was more of a stone soup 
thing, someone wrote some perl, someone added some carrots, etc.
