The user starts a rewrite, gets a system that basically plays files and then the effort peters out. IIRC Implementations have been done in C and Python.

A rewrite would never catch up on the extended functionality of SqueezeCenter so it is unlikely there would be an adequate number of developers attracted to the development to sustain it. The reality is an NLSU2 is 4 year technology originally 133MHz (now 266MHz) and 32Mbytes RAM. Current NAS platforms have 500MHz processors and 128MBytes RAM and next year they will be 800MHz-1GHz/256MBytes. It is just not worthwhile rewriting SC7.0 jettisoning functionality just to be smaller. -- bpa ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=47587 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
