Thanks for the Webmin script Mudlark - that's made the WOL command persistent. And thanks Raymond for the ifconfig, which gave me the MAC information.
That's some progress, but when I try to power up the server - both by trying the SB3 remote or by using a WOL app from my computer - it still won't wake up. After all the trial-and-error it feels very close...but just not quite there!
