Just put the ubuntu machine into hibernate, waited a bit, then hit the on/off button on the remote of the SB3 and the server showed no sign of life (and when I booted it back up from the hitting the button on the box, it asked me for a password, which will prevent it from auto connecting once I WOL sorted...but I'll deal with that one later).
Hopefully, I'm getting closer though, having identified that eth0 isn't the address for the NIC...
