Having looked at the performance I am not sure what the issue is. It could just be my wireless network. My Squeezeplug had no issues but I messed the boot code up on that.
My EEE PC 701 is an old one with a Celeron however the CPU seams fine and the memory is fine (from memory I have less than half the 1Gb of memory in use with SBS running). I have a very early (imported from Taiwan) 8G EEE PC so the SSD does have terrible write speed and I supect the occasional glitches are down to this or to WiFi. I have a very stripped down install of XP on already and don't run AV on the machine either (I'm doing an occasional batch virus check to stop me getting paranoid). I'm going to see how this performs when my third SB arrives this week (radio) and if it's still annoying me I'll experiment with some stripped down Linux installs. The glitches have happened when listening to FLAC so I reckon this isn't a CPU issue. Overall performance is very good just very occasional gaps perhaps it's an updater that's running on the machine. If I cannot get this install bedded down this week then I'll go Linux as I am happy doing things with ssh and a CLI. -- fairyliquidizer "O wad some Power the giftie gie us To see oursels as ithers see us!
