CM6631...... I'm not surprised. I still haven't seen a user report of
the CMedia chipset working under Linux. I think it may still be a
chipset to avoid if you intend to use it with Linux. 

ISTR, that the CMedia datasheet suggests that CM6631 should work in UAC1
mode with the "standard" Linux snd-usb-audio driver, but that UAC2 was
only "supported" on Window$/Mac with their proprietary driver. Which DAC
do you have with the CM6631? Do you know if it is being used in UAC1 or
UAC2 mode? ie. does the DAC claim to support >96kHz via USB?
