On the Wandboard, "sudo alsactl store 3", (after you have set the volume to max with alsamixer), will store the config for your USB DAC, which should survive a reboot. (You shouldn't need to manually do this. It should happen automatically. ie. the settings for each sound card interface are stored as part of the shutdown process......)
