Hi.

Regarding systemd, my timestamp issue on the RPi ( without HWclock ) .
Even though the ntpd service gets started before SL. It doesn't seem to
be finished at the time SL starts up. SL starts up last (type=idle)
btw.

I added:

ExecStartPre=/usr/bin/ntpdate -u time.nist.gov

to my squeezelite.service file.

Basically I now make sure that the time is set before  starting
squeezelite.

That solved the 1970... default timestamps that I had in the SL logs (
at the beginning) before.
The time remains at UTC throughout the log now. 
However. TZ will not be adjusted.
I don't know if running SL at UTC and at the same time having a
different LOCALTIME (UTC +TZ) causes any trouble!?!?
