Dear Forum members, I'm a newbie here and I'm also a rather new user of a Vortexbox system on a DiY computer (direct USB connection between the PC and the DAC - dCS). VortexBox is Squeezelite based and Ron on the VortexBox forum recommend me to post my issue on this thread:
Actually, I'm experiencing very annoying audio clicks between each AIFF track (most of my albums were ripped in AIFF as I was a MacOS user for Music in the past). I've been using extensively Daphile in the past months. Daphile is also based on Squeezelite and there was no clicks at all. So, I'm really wondering where the issue is located ; it is not hardware I would guess as Daphile is OK with AIFF. I can confirm that with VortexBox - Squeezelite only AIFF files are involved (actually the quite loud click happens exactly at the very end of the AIFF when moving to the next track, or even when AIFF is the last track of the playlist). No click at all with FLAC files or with WAV files.
