I think the TEAC is an async dac, but seem to remember some problems
with its linux support in the past - I may be wrong though.

To check, play something and check that the momentary sample rate is
changing when you cat /proc/asound/DEVICE/stream0 - it should change
from just above to just below the sample rate over time as feedback
works to keep its buffer ~half full.

Does playback work fine for other apps but squeezelite is the only one
causing the problem?
