@Krisbee 1. The optimizations (udev/sysctl-network/journald.conf) you find in the soa-install are pretty much my humble contributions. I also came up with a reference to a patched Cubitruck kernel.
Thx for the flowers! Similar stuff could be found in my Touch Toolbox. 2. MPD OSes run at around 1%-3% CPU load while streaming. Pretty similar to my squeezelite installation on a B+. Once in a while we compare these. Cubitruck and PI2 is pretty much the same. It's nonsense that those Web apps of the MPD distros have huge impact. LMS usually also sits idle. It's not a deal breaker either. 3. I'll check out your info related to PI2. As far as I see I figured out pretty much everything you mention on my own.
