Thanks. Now you mention it, mine have been silent since the initial installation too. I wonder what's going on there! I've modified the ScreenSavers applet so that the screen brightness goes to zero when the 'Blank Screen' screensaver activates, and is restored to the original value when it deactivates. I should probably implement this within the BlankScreen applet itself, but was struggling to get it to work - I think I know why now so will have another go later. I've also added '0%' as one of the backlight options in the JogglerBacklight applet.
