My network experience is pretty limited. I was able to get our machines working together using File Sharing in OS 9.1 > In any case my printer does not show up - it's connected to the > computer via the serial cable and to the router ( a 4port SMC) by the > parallel cable. I did not use the serial cables with our printers, only the network (ethernet) cables. > I've also tried to set it up as an LPR device using IP and a generic > printer driver, among others. No Go. Since you have the printer connected to the parallel port, you might try using the driver for the AXIS Print Adapter. The AXIS is a parallel connection, and the driver is designed for use with an AppleTalk network. > snip... > > I found the Bridge , installed it and now classic hangs on boot... My network is different from your's, so this may or may not be applicable. But, I leave File Sharing turned off at startup, as it really slows things down.
