hello, here is a response for selecting the browser to open .html's in 10.1.5 from another list. 10.2.2 is probably similar
i'm trying to find a way to set max os x 10.2.2 to open files with certain apps.
for example, all jpg's that are sent to me or come of my digi camera open in preview - i'd like to set it up to open in photoshop.
also, some of my html, asp and php code pages open in text edit - i'd like to change it to open these file types to open in dreamweaver.
in os9 we used the file exchange control panel to set this up (most of the time it worked!) - is there an equivalent in x?
many thanks for any info,
jake
hello, it is pretty easy. Just select the file you want to have opened by default
Under the file menu select show info, or command (apple key) & i
with in the info window select the pulldown menu and select open with application
& then if you want change all
OSX uses extensions so .html & .htm will be mapped separately.
you can also do a search for most recent modified files after the change to see where the settings are stored & then modify that directly manually or with a script if you like.
