OT :
... but does anyone know if any 3D S/W is using realtime
rendering yet ? I guess Terragen is using some kind of
realtime previewing , but is there anyone who is leaning
toward realtime rendering (either GPU or CPU based) ?
It's obviously just a matter of time before more and
more S/W's move to realtime , considering the amount of
rendering power that is coming available with each passing
day .
Cell , Dual Quad-core , DX10 , the latest Quadro's ...
it never ends of course . Realtime raytracing is a reality
now , with certain hacks it seems .
Besides S/W that supports Gelato , is there anybody out
there who is moving in that direction for the very near
future ?
Thanks

Haha, man, if the cryo-guys heard you refer to this as a landscape engine :)
They're used this engine in FarCry a while ago,
and it's the best I've ever seen. German engineering ;)
I agree it would be cool to work like that.

Hi Arjo :
OK . I thought maybe you had been using this game engine
somehow . I have no idea how anyone would use a game engine
for creation purposes now, but I have a feeling it is just
a matter of time and we will all be using realtime tools .
OK , so have you thought about perhaps ditching VRML
for something more cutting edge ?
