Hi guys..

Sorry that I havent been much active at all neither in the community nor lately in betatesting.. =(. but its all due to my situation have gone from bad to worse.. nothing I want or have energy to take up, life is just almost too hard.. ..

But here is a fast guide to my workflow with the 'Walk Thru Tool' (which is almost now what I once asked for a long time ago before we got the 'Cruise Mode' ....

1. Load the 'Walk Thru' prj from the 'Samples' menu.
2. In the 'View Controls' Toolbar, click the 'Walk Thru Tool' button (The 2nd from top in the Right column) 3. See to it that, 'Gravity', 'Collision', 'Stabilizer' (Makes walking stairs being Smooth and so on) and 'Animations' are 'Checked'.
4. Click the 'Walk Thru Tools' 'Record' button.
5. Click and hold down the LMB in the 'View' Window and use mouse to "Look around" and (w key) (Move forward) and other mentioned keys to move around, until you come to a door ! 6. Aim at the door, until it gets selected (Shows both in the 'Select' Window and its Move/Rotate/etc Handle shows in the 'View' Win) 7. Press (Spacebar Key) to open the door (It actually executes the selected object's animations...which can be anything...!)
8. Walk around some more and open other doors in the same way.
9. Click the 'Walk Thru Tools' 'Record' button again to stop the recording.
10. In the 'Animation' Window, click the 'Rewind' button (For all animations to get to their "Initial" states.. Difficult to open an already open door and so on..=) 11. Look in the 'Walk Thru Tools' 'Length' field, and see how many frames it has recorded. (for example it may say 1080 frames) 12. In the 'Animation' Window set the 'Total Animation Frames' Field to 1100 and press (Return Key) AND click on 'NO' when asked to scale timelines !
13. 'Accept' the 'Walk Thru Tool'
14. In the 'View Controls Toolbar' click on the 'Enable Camera Tracking' button (just above the 'Walk Thru Tool' button)
15. In the 'Animation' Window, click 'Play' to watch your masterpiece..=)

Hopes any of this may be of some help.. and if you have questions.. as usual dont hesitate .. just ask..! (if I have energy I will try to help out..) I also hope I havent missed out on something or made errors in this fast little guide.. ! (I have tested it but I might be blind to my own misses)

There are some pitfalls, some are solved by using my workflow above but others needs more comments on and some needs either bug fixes or additions or changes in how they work..(but for now I dont have more energy to get into them..)

Good luck and have fun with your new V6 christmas toys.. !
I hope you all have a nice and calm time with your near n dear ones.. !

Take Care

Hi Garry,

Yeah, this baffled me too, it was one of the first things I checked out
and
I got stuck immediately ;)
Yeah, the info in the reference manual doesn't help much...

I came this far:
- Set number of frames to at least 1000
- activate the walkthru tool
- hit Record
- press left mouse button and keep it down
- hit w to move forward, s backward, a and d sideways, use mouse for
direction
- when Length (at the right in the toolbar) exceeds the number of frames I
guess you're done, Hit Accept.
- a level with a properly animated camera is created. There's a new button
at the top right (not left, at least not in my interface, lol!) that
activates camera tracking for the view window; hit this before dragging
the
new cam onto the view and playing the animation.

But I haven't figured out how to activate doors etc during the recording.
Any tips?

hope this helps a bit,
Mark H

Hi Mark,

I managed to open several doors by clicking on the ordinary "play forward"
icon in the ordinary animation "stuff" at the bottom of the main window.
You have to hurry moving forward while the door is open.

But I haven't been able to replay the animation.
